2018 Call for Proposals

We are inviting proposals for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, virtual lightning talks, virtual posters, or colloquia addressing one of the following themes:

  • Theme 1: The Form of The Image
  • Theme 2: Image Work
  • Theme 3: The Image in Society
  • 2018 Special Focus - Artificial Images and Visual Intelligence: Seeing in the Age of Big-Data

2018 Call for Entries: The Image Conference Exhibition

The Ninth International Conference on The Image invites conference participants to submit artistic work for entry to the 2018 Image Conference Pop-Up Exhibition, to be held 3–4 November at Koo Ming Kown Gallery, Hong Kong Baptist University. Entries are invited which address the exhibition focus, Artificial Images and Visual Intelligence: Seeing in the Age of Big-Data.

Submission Details

Entries are welcome in the following areas: 1) Visual artworks—photography, prints, drawings, paintings, 2) Short films or videos, 3) Screen-based computer or net art.

Submission Guidelines

Proposals should submitted no later than 3 September 2018. Entries must include the following:

  • Title
  • Presentation type (select "Pop-Up Exhibition" in CG Scholar)
  • Abstract, including: 1) A web link to your work, 2) The exact dimensions of your work(s) and the number of pieces, and 3) Any special requirements for exhibiting the work*
  • Keyword set
  • Knowledge focus
  • Presentation theme

Entries will be reviewed by 18 September 2018, and applicants will be notified of acceptance via email. Once an entry is accepted, participants must register for the conference.

1 Submit a Proposal

If you would like to present, start by submitting a proposal. You will need the following: presentation type, short and long descriptions, keywords, focus, themes, and biographical information.

2 Get Accepted

After we receive your presentation proposal, it moves to the evaluation step. We welcome the submission of proposals at any time of the year. All proposals will be reviewed within two to four weeks of submission.

3 Register

Once your proposal is accepted, you must register before our Program Development team can schedule your presentation.
